These two had 3 siblings just down the road. They weren't much bigger than a can of beer sitting just up the road. This was on the steeper part of Garfoot on the Thursday night Bombay ride.
Today's ride was solo south of Verona via Paoli. I guess the livestock have World Cup fever too.
Matt is recovering from having his bikes stolen. His homeowner insurance will be covering replacement value so once he's settled in Tacoma he'll begin shopping for new rides. I had mentioned BikesDirect.com had some potential. If they don't have a whole bike to his liking, he could pick up a parts donor for a nicer frame. Thursday night Gaylord (an original Yellow Jersey Co-op member) showed up on his just out of the box Motobecane from BD. He put a new Brooks on it rode it that night. Not bad for $1500 and a $200 saddle.
Brian happy to be drafting. He's been a bit pokey after a hard weekend of riding over Memorial Day. I think he did nearly 250 miles over the three days and I don't think he's recovered. He was markedly slower up the hills.
Sleeve-ectomy on the T6 jersey on the road out of Cross Plains.
Today's ride took me through town where I ran into Kris Noreen. I worked with Kris back in the Willy Bike days. He was on a fixie Matt would adore. Mavic track hubs, Superbe Pro track cranks and a Record pillar on a classic De Bernardi. He's opening a catering company in the old Cafe Montmartre. I told him about Matt's loss and he'll be spreading the word. Matt may be getting a check from the insurance company, but we'll do our best to bust the tool who stole the bikes. He talks with his hands a lot.
