It doesn't feel like 'cross season yet

Today's morning and afternoon rides weren't too different. An easy 30 on Donna this am and an easier 22 on the Spare this afternoon. I wore my new MTB/'Cross shoes this afternoon in an effort to settle the insoles to my foot form easily. I was just starting my second lap around the lake when I paused to reposition the cleat on one shoe and a minivan stopped. It was Andy Swartz. I don't know if he recognized me or the 15 year old Brazen Drop-outs Jersey I was wearing. But he did mention he knew about me riding with Russell and Regina. WTF? Russell hasn't posted anything yet. He's got a bum wing so I hope he heals in time for 'cross season.

With 'cross season just around the corner, ice fishing shanties should be popping up on the ice any day now. Moments after I snapped this I passed under the trestle and saw The Darkness commuting in a T6 BKB jersey. I gave him the metal salute and a "hey" as we passed.

Then I saw this enemy of Russell. He had been nibbling on a snack until I said "look out, it's Russell!" He darted back into the tall grass where he'll be safe until Russell comes looking for him in February.

I'd better start looking for 'cross tubulars asap.
