You'll love the omelette.
All the thawing and the 200 kilo glacier on the flat roof of the garage was seeping into the basement. For the first time in 10 years I have water in the basement. Nothing scary, but a pain in the ass nonetheless. As I was dealing with the glacier fixie riding neighbor Matt came over and asked if I'd help resolve an electrical issue his house was having. A few hours of searching and speculation led me to believe there was an open neutral somewhere in the circuit controlling his dining room, kitchen and pantry. As luck would have it the cause was found by 9pm. A receptacle had been wired using the "stab in" connections rather than wrapping the wire under the screws on the side. The wires for the neutral had broken and were intermittently touching resulting in the low voltage readings I was getting with my multimeter. All that sounds like life getting in the way of a ride, but I had another reason.
I had a crash Tuesday.
Sheri and I checked out Paoli Tueday. No big deal and yes, the bike is fine. As I was coming through the Arboretum I had a wonderful tailwind. When I got to the chicane that prevents the autos from passing through I was railing easily at 30mph. The sand, draining water, ice and snow were all over the pavement. I tried to thread the needle on the wet pavement but had too much speed for the traction available. I started to low-side on the sand, then the tires hit the edge of the snow bank and I high-sided into the snow. It made for a fairly soft landing but I landed on my right side and shoulder. Covered in snow I stood up to confirm there were no witnesses. The Seven was fine, just a little snow on the brake lever, so I hopped on and headed out.
Yesterday when I awoke there was a stiffness on the top of my right shoulder. A little stretching make most of the pain go away. I didn't take any Vitamin I, it isn't that bad.
Here's some cattle so I can get riding today.
