Bathroom tour

I love tools. Bicycle tools, construction tools, automotive tools but not well, the tools in traffic on their cell phone oblivious to the rest of the world and its rules. So when I get a chance to use a new tool I'm generally in a good frame of mind. Like last Friday when I returned the simple tile cutter that couldn't handle the tile to be installed in the upstairs bathroom, I was frustrated a tool wasn't functioning like I thought it should. It make me wonder if it was the operator and not the tool. Two broken tiles and only one successful cut will do that to me. So I went to A-Z Rental and rented the 14" tile saw. 10,000 rpms with a water pump for blade lubrication instills confidence and respect. I knew I could do the job with it, but I'd need to keep my digits at a safe distance, 2-5 mm's, if I wanted to stay out of the ER. After reading 3 tile books I was under the impression I'd be knocking out 9 square feet an hour. So with slightly under 100 square feet to do I figured two days would suffice. Wrong. My initial estimate didn't account for my affinity for perfection. 5 days later I returned the saw. The guys at A-Z asked "how'd it go?" I briefly thought about it and came to the conclusion "it was more tedious than I thought it would be." How would I put it into bicycling terminology most will understand? Think of building a bike from a box of parts. Included in that build is a bundle of spokes, a bag of loose bearings, lugs, Columbus tubing and a can of paint. Yeah, you can get it built and riding. It's just going to take a bit longer than usual.

Here's a walk around of the bathroom.

I'll be grouting today before the Beefurkey is served and the 'Boys whup up on the Seachickens. 3pm CST kickoff.

Have a good holiday

Having the toilet in the hallway is really a fantastic idea! That will save a lot of TP.
