Crawl, Walk, then Ride

Sephie and I went for a ride today. She wanted to ride the Big Sur on a trail so I took her to the most benign trail in the area. There's cyclocross races on these trails in the fall so I knew she'd be fine with the level of difficulty or lack there of.
Seph needed a couple of safety pins to keep her pants out of the drive train but she was comfortable in no time.
She's aggressive too.
She was momentarily distracted  by a playground so I decided to do a few hill repeats. Before I could finish the first one I turned around and there she was chasing me down.
Randy would be pushing a bike up this hill, but not Sephie.
On the subject of distractions, the other side of the hill revealed the Redden Football (not that ponzi 'Merican style football) Complex. Suddenly we had a destination.
We did a lap of the games when Sephie noticed this scrimmage. It was the U18 female Madison 56ers having a selection scrimmage in front of their coaches. Sephie was no longer interested in riding and we watched for at least an hour.
On the way back we were accosted by a pesky rodent. Russell needs to make a road trip for an addition to the mantle.
The last bit was on the road but the smile says it all.
As with any trail ride there was beer afterwards... Root Beer. I had a strawberry soda.
Mmmm, cold fizzy drinks and smiles.
