Turn the knob to 11

What to do?

Thursday I saw a family of bison by the watering hole.

On my way back that night I saw this. He was adjusting his front deraileur. It was his dad's college bike, complete with tubulars which rolled off in the first corner out the driveway. Now it has clinchers. Full Sugino and Suntour equipped.

It's been a busy week of riding. 100k on Tueday, 35 on Wednesday, 33 on Thursday and a much needed day off yesterday. I picked up my Muddy Cup kit yesterday. It looks great. The Mt Borah Pro Fit is different from the non-Pro Fit I tried on at Willy Bike a few weeks ago, it's a half size smaller. The bibs are fine, the full zip jersey rocks, but it fits perfectly on me. Which is to say I need to drop another 10 pounds to have it fit right. With the highly accurate scale in the basement showing 13.9 stone, I've made progress since February's 15.7 stone.

The benefit to starting group rides late is not having to look at a cue sheet. Simply follow the other riders until there's a split in the route. Here's the base of the Far View Road climb. 1.5 miles later there's a view at the top, well, you can see quite far.
This weekend is option packed.

Saturday:
-Horribly Hilly Hundred's (Liz is doing the 100k.)
-World Naked Bike Ride (Everyone is lucky I'm not 20# lighter or this would be an option)
-WEMS at John Muir (I'll most likely do the 3 lap race aka the 3 hr. I need a front deraileur)
-Tour of America's Dairyland in Grafton (Master's 1,2,3 at 4:10 for 70 minutes. yippie)

Sunday
-ToAD in Appleton (the same Master's race. I know this course, it was a stage of the Milk Races back in the '70's. I did it in '78 and '79. Flat-ish and fast.)

There's also the sedentary option which involves consuming a 6-pack of Satisfaction Jackson.
