Long ride Tuesday since I worked early and got done. Once in Monroe I met a nice Police Officer, Cpl Al. He got me pointed in the right direction then he confessed "I'd rather be riding my fixie on the Badger Trail to Freeport." Cpl Al has a little H8ter in him.
Last week I was in my FNBS (friendly neighborhood bike shop) as they were finishing a Brooks and streamers install on an off-green fixie.
The Hell of the South in the rain. As it should be. Last night I did the WNBR from Belleville. Half an hour in and it started to rain. I felt like the HoTS was the place to be.
A Rainbow? Is that Mother Nature's way of locating a World Champion in the rain?
I went for a 7 hour (115 mile) ride Tuesday. I don't think this looks like New York state, but I felt like I'd ridden that far.
Neighbor Matt got a pretty good deal on a late 80's Cannondale. It came with an extra set of wheels (Mavic 501's on Open 4CD's). It may be 7 speed but it will ride fine. Not bad for recycled Dos Equis cans.
Sunday Liz slept over and we went for a ride. We did a fairly hilly ride by Black Earth (28 miles) and ended up having a great meal of mexican food afterwards.
