With the weather warming to 15 F I got out on the skis again. It takes me about about 20 minutes to settle into a relaxed skating rhythm which is about a lap of Monona GC. Right about that time the arches of my feet begin to ache. 10 minutes later the ache is gone but the fingers tips begin to burn from the cold. By the end of the second lap I'm in the sweet spot of the workout. Unfortunately it only lasts 20 more minutes but by then I've finished the 3rd lap. Which is good, because the car is right there. So a solid hour skiing today with only a couple minor camera breaks.
There's no need to give the stark black on white a sepia treatment.
The trail was groomed last night. The icy spots were at a minimum compared to yesterday.
Even though Monona is fairly flat it has one really tough section. The last quarter mile passes the McDonald's , which isn't a distraction unless the wind is out of the northwest like today. The smell of meat-like patties and french fries is a bit distracting if you're me.
I got home, had a light lunch and a shower to find a new show had been recorded on the DVR. It was a documentary on the Sundance Channel about the 2007-2008 Garmin-Chipotle-Slipstream Team. I found it motivational and I was gratified to have a solid work-out done BEFORE watching.
