Turn the knob to 11

Busy day a the office

No two-a-day today. As I went to hop on the Spare my neighbor Tracy says "off to the office?"

Yup.

I hadn't ridden up by Lodi in a while so that was the direction I went. I thought I might hit Sauk City and maybe on to Spring Green if the legs felt good. When I rolled into Lodi I'd been battling a headwind since leaving the house and I'd only been averaging 15.8 mph. As I turned toward Sauk I came upon Riddle Road... and I couldn't resist. So I turned south for a bit until it linked with Lee Road and west I went.

My legs were starting to ache about 40 miles in but my back was fine. After Saturday's DD these hills were easier or perhaps I could put more into them having recovered. I decided I was done as I rolled into Roxbury so I becan to plot the way back. Once on Cty K I had a nice wind pushing me and I was holding steady in the low 20's and nearly 20 on the hills. And then I saw a rider up the road. It took a couple of miles for me to get close but as soon as the road tilted up I was actually gaining. Mid-way up CTY KP hill I saw she had T6 shorts so I had to take a picture. She was startled when I pulled along side but she'd been riding 50ish miles and was nearing home in Middleton. I suggested she have a good ride and up the road I went.

The ride through town was uneventful. I rolled into the driveway 4:01:28 and 66.08 miles later to find Fella (aka "Chopper") wanting to be petted. So we sat on the porch and discussed our day.

Neither of us mentioned 'Cross season.

Dammit

First I wasn't mocking Gage. I was mocking YOU. If YOU can't take a fairly benign interweb assault then maybe you should unplug your computer and walk away.

YOU failed to prepare Gage for getting dropped on a group ride. Since YOU had not hired a chaperone the responsibility lies with you for his getting lost. Don't dump that responsibility on Co0o0op, Jay, Russell or anyone else. YOU should have been there for Gage and YOU WEREN'T.

If you are going to be angry about anything, be angry YOU failed Gage.

And driving your Scion 80 mph on a residential street with Gage in the car is NOT a way to deal with your anger.

You have an issue with me, you take it up with me. You leave a 15 year old kid out of it.

I look forward to meeting you.

Easy there interweb tough-guy. If you hadn't deleted my original comment you could plainly see I kept the comment directed toward the Clip and you. I could give a sh!t what a Professional Doper or anyone else thinks is funny, I said I didn't find it funny.

What I did not find funny was hearing about your unwillingness to step-up to parenting responsibilities. You came off as pointing the finger of blame at everyone else on the ride. No, I wasn't there, but that's how it was portrayed to me. Your frustrations from the other night were still on minds of others days afterwards that they felt the need to vent to a third party. If you're going to send Gage out on a road ride you should prepare him properly. Giving him a cell phone, a Quarter or tell him next time to speak up if he's dropping back. "HEY GUYS! I DROPPED MY CHAIN! GIVE ME A MINUTE!" has worked for others on other rides. Assuming nobody has their iPod shoved deep in their ears.

If you want to carry a civil dialog that's fine with me but understand this, your kid, my kid, your wife and my wife are off limits.

If you can't stay within those limits then you'll just embarrass yourself in front of the people who actually know you.
