Turn the knob to 11

O-my goodness

Good morning everyone. Did you sleep well? Me, I slept great after dozing off on the couch at about 1 am. I wasn't tuckered out from doing cartwheels and handsprings, I was drained emotionally by the many months of this presidential campaign. I was drained by the thought of the world as I know it sliding down the economic sewer. I'm not suggesting Mr Obama, now President-elect, will place his hand on a magic lever which will change the world instantly. What he can do is get people in this nation to transform the Hope they've developed into Motivation and Action. We as a nation need to be motivated to apply ourselves in the same way our ancestors have done, for without their work we wouldn't be where we are today.

So if you're thrilled about the outcome of the election, now is your chance to act and begin building a nation. If you're still having a pity-party because your candidate lost, that's fine. Take a day and feel sad for a man who was a better candidate for office 10 years ago than he was yesterday. When you're done with that, you can join the rest of us. I know it sounds cliche, but we need to work together.

4 years from now I want to be able to answer the question "Are you better off today than you were 4 years ago?" with a proud "Yes. Yes we are."

Thanks to everyone who helped both campaigns. Thanks to everyone who voted at least once. Thanks everyone, really.
