Turn the knob to 11

Honest honey, it's not what it looks like

Jerry's always struck me as a respectable guy, but the camera angle is misleading. There's a buck in the sport bra... really. Pay no attention to the expression on her boyfriend's (Cale?) face just behind Jerry.

I had done some racing before Jerry, well, I rode my bike anyway. It was a good thing I pre-rode with Karen. the course was run counter-clockwise and had extras in the grassy area by the parking lot. It was a really nice course ad fast. Last week I was 17th, but they gave me a second row call-up anyway. I had a better first half a lap and was sticking with the group but then the wheels began to fall off my wagon. Lack of conditioning was again a problem as long as I tried to go fast. I could wind it up on the flats and stay with the gearies but I'd spend the rest of the time recovering. I ended up 18th (I think) but wasn't last.
Being a non-UCI sanctioned event there were 3 man-made barriers. Two plywood and one double log set. At the top of the climb after barrier #2 there was a contingent of tifosi with bells and beer. Being a non-UCI event there was a liberal interpretation of the hand-up rule. Being on a singlespeed, Ronsta had his hands full with the top of the hill.

Here's what the group following Jesse Lalonde looked like...
