The extra hour of daylight has improved my mood. With the hour came a fair day in the low 40's. More 40 degree range days are ahead according to the weather guessers. Today while waiting at Espresso Royale I had a great conversation with the other barista. She's on the same level as Emma, but with a Jesse/Marco-like quality and not because piercings and ink adorn her. She has a DeBernardi she'd like to convert to either single speed or fixie. I've stopped being surprised at the types of bikes people own. I just soak it in and enjoy the moments.
A nice day deserves more than one single speed on State Street. The first one is a bonus, it's a 29er Monocog... I think it's a Monocog anyway. He's got his gear on for the ascent of some mountain and he means to take the bus off the line.
Here's after a 4 shot. Nice typical fixie with a messenger bag waiting to pounce on the taxi.
After picking up Sephie we went west to Hilldale Mall to pick up a home archeology kit and stumbled upon my idea of a fixie. I've always loved the celeste of a Bianchi and the ride of a Columbus tubeset.
On the way home I happened upon this poor soul. Our last major snow fall was how many days ago? Even with the melting of a few inches he's still more than hood deep and plowed in solid.
The think the lack of motivation oh the owner's part may be due to the 2hr window he has to extract the car. Technically he's not parking... he's fucked.
